Could it be that I’m actually done this Diploma thing? Well, done in the sense of no more classroom time, no more intense study, no more getting up at 6 am to study for two hours before heading in for an 8-hour day workday, and then back home again to study for another 3-6 hours in the evening. And then the next day…do it all over again! I was not the only one who seriously counted on their partner to do…everything. Get groceries, cook, clean, do laundry, do all the driving necessary for the kids. I think our partners ought to get a share of this diploma too! I’m especially appreciative towards Mr. Joy of Wine. He was a serious trooper!
So, after it’s all over, what will I ever do with myself? One of the things is this: you’re reading it! My blog went seriously lacking during this time, so I have no excuses anymore. No more, “I don’t have time to write! I’m studying!” Besides blogging, I have a list that is a mile long, and not all wine related either I might add. But even though I’m not studying, I will still be very much in tune with the wine industry. I can’t help but do that! I work in it everyday! 🙂
Look for more posts, and like some of my fellow bloggers, a weekly “themed” post! Thank you Armchair Sommelier, Rockin’ Red Blog, and Talk-A-Vino (just to name a few) for this inspiration!
Look for something later today even! Happy reading…Cin Cin!
Awesome work! You’ll have to tell me how it went! I’m doing mine in June.
I totally will! it was hard, and my hand was totally cramped up by the time I was finished, but I’m feeling positive about the pass! Woohoo!
I’m crossing everything I can cross for you . . . but with the study hours you were putting in? I don’t think you’ll need it. Did you open anything special to mark the end of “all-study-all-the-time”??? Cheers!
Thanks Kirsten! Not specifically…we all went out for dinner at a really lovely French restaurant and There was free corkage…I brought a 2004 Barbaresco from Sottimano and of course the bubbly was flowing too! 🙂
That sounds perfectly perfect . . . Salud!
I’m so happy that you feel it all went well – if you feel like you passed, I’m pretty sure you will. And it was my pleasure, along with a few others, to be part of this journey. We tasted some great stuff, some fun stuff, and some stuff that I’ll never buy! Cin Cin, y caio.
I know right? It was fun hanging out with such an awesome taster as yourself James! Thanks for hanging out!
Congratulations on your diploma! That is some serious hard work. Way to Go! And thank you for the shout out! You are so kind! Cheers.
Of course Michelle! I’ll let you know in just 12 short weeks of the results! 😉
Gotcha! I misunderstood that you have completed it and are waiting for results. Well then in 12 weeks I will wish you another Congrats!
I’ll take your congratulations for completion! Everything gets sent to London to be marked and there’s a lot of exams to mark! I feel like i passed though!
Congratulations, on your diploma, though we continue to learn and be educated for ever.
So true absolutely!
